Matt ShaverPresident

Matt founded Foundation Restoration in 2009. He has worked with specialty-concrete construction products, such as polyurea and industrial floor coatings, for the past thirteen years. He holds expert knowledge in epoxies in particular. Matt is dedicated to his employees, business associates, and the Whatcom County community.

Kristin SyreVice President of Finance

Kristin joined Foundation Restoration in January 2023 and brings nearly 20 years of accounting experience with a background in construction and manufacturing to the team. She is a lifelong Whatcom County resident and enjoys working with youth in the community as well as traveling with her family.

David BurkettResidential Estimator/Project Manager

David is Foundation Restoration’s Residential Estimator and Project Manager. With a background in carpentry and waterproofing, he is highly knowledgeable when it comes to finding solutions for home repairs and improvements. David is a Whatcom County local, outdoor enthusiast, and dog lover!

Eric SimonsonResidential Estimator/Project Manger

Eric brings over 15 years of construction trade, project management, and building performance science experience to the Foundation Restoration team. He previously managed the Skagit County Housing Authority’s Weatherization and Repair Program and owned and operated a residential construction company here in Bellingham. Eric has also worked as a carpenter and a welder/fabricator, and still enjoys working with his hands remodeling his home on Gooseberry Point. Eric has spent most of his life here in NW Washington, and when he isn’t on the job site you can find him exploring the mountains and waterways of the Pacific Northwest on foot, by boat, strapped to a snowboard, or with a fishing rod in hand.

Morgan LongwellVice President of Operations

Morgan is Foundation Restoration’s Vice President of Operations and has been with the company since 2014. Working his way up through the ranks, he has acquired in-depth knowledge of construction and coating processes. Morgan is a lifelong Bellingham local and enjoys hiking and kayaking in his free time.

Mark BernardProject Manager/Commercial Estimator

Mark is Foundation Restorations Project Manager, Commercial Estimator and Safety Supervisor. With a degree in Multimedia Information Technology and Twenty plus years of coatings/construction experience, Mark worked his way up as our Polyurea Application Specialist and has been a great asset at Foundation Restoration since 2016. When not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his wife and kids in the great outdoors of the PNW.

Kelsey RileyOffice Manager

Kelsey is originally from Boise, ID. She moved to Bellingham in 2014 to study recreation with an emphasis in outdoor and community recreation at Western Washington University. She is an avid snowboarder, hiker, and bird nerd. Kelsey has worked in many customer-service based positions, which has provided her with beneficial skills that she now applies to her position in Foundation Restoration’s front office.

Jeremy KissingerSurface Prep Manager/Estimator

Jeremy brings 30 years of concrete and steel surface preparation experience to our team. He has managed projects from small residential basements to over 1 million square foot industrial floors. He has also worked in the equipment manufacturing and sales side of the business for many years, where he acquired specific knowledge in the different techniques and best practices depending on the project. When not at work he is usually sailing, snowboarding, or chasing live music somewhere between Bellingham and Tacoma.

Foundation Restoration was recommended to me by my Realtor for a rear deck repair that was discovered to be shifting on the home inspection. I got other estimates that were considerably less expensive. David came out to inspect and give me an estimate. He was totally professional and honest with me. He told me that he could do a less expensive repair but if I wanted it done right the recommended repair would be the best. The next issue was timing. My closing was in 2 weeks. They worked really hard to fit me in. They came out and excavated around the slipping pillar and the team decided that the “Pin Pile” repair was not needed. Bottom line, FR was professional, honesty and did superior work. I would recommend them for any repair that they can perform. You will not be disappointed.
